Verdin’s Bell Foundry on Wheels is a two-day event the entire community can enjoy. The traveling bell foundry, the only one in the world, allows your community or organization to witness a bell casting, and even participate in the creation of the bell.
Local children assist in making the bell by passing bronze ingots to the furnace. When the molted bronze heats to 2200 degrees the bell is poured.
Local dignitaries try their hand at breaking the bell mold as the crowd looks on. Once the bell is revealed, Verdin craftsmen grind, paint and polish it for dedication to the community.
